Ron Shovlin and Kara Shovlin – a husband and wife duo – are owners of Shovlin Mattress. Formerly known as “The Mattress Factory,” the business was founded by Brian Strell in 1972. Marlene and Richard Shovlin, Ron’s mother and father, eventually bought the business as their own in 1987. Upon Ron becoming the sole owner of the flagship store in 2007, the name was changed to Shovlin Mattress.

They are made with the best innerspring in the industry, heaviest gauge coils & most supportive side steel edges – making them both comfortable and long-lasting.This high level of quality is hard to find since most national brands no longer provide two-sided innerspring construction at all, and they cut corners by using foam side guards (Shovlin uses steel), weak coil springs (Shovlin’s are strong), and less dense foam yet national brands charge much more than Shovlin does. Another thing they can’t say? Almost all Shovlin mattresses can be flipped & rotated, allowing the cushioning & support pads to recover to their original shape & giving them the ability to far outlast those comparable national brands.
